[[cutouts]] w projekcie PCB (layout) tylko utrzymuje miedź stref z dala od obszaru na niektórych warstwach i pozostawia płytkę w całości. Wykroj musi leżeć wewnątrz konturu. Wszystko, co używa konturu, traktuje krawędź wykroju jako krawędź płytki: zasady krawędziowe (copper-to-edge, pad-to-edge, pad-off-board, part-to-edge, part-body-to-edge, hole-to-edge, edge-pad-reach, zasady mlcc-flex-zone, które nazywają wykroj), opisy (sitodruk) i znak wodny, wylewki (utrzymywane w odległości min_copper_to_edge), przelotki spinające, punkty testowe, autorouter i tuner, profil Edge_Cuts producenta, podglądy oraz modele FDTD, termiczne i DC, gdzie wykroj to powietrze. Zapisane wypełnienie staje się nieaktualne, gdy wykroj się zmieni.
